Rosemary gets its name from the Latin [Ros maris] "Sea dew", as it grows on the coastal cliffs of the Mediterranean coast. Rosemary essential oil is characterized with an invigorating, piney, citrusy, herbal scent derived from the Rosmarinus Officinalis plant, a mint family that includes basil, lavender, myrtle and sage. Its appearance is similar to lavender with flat needles and a slight silver trace. Rosemary has antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties that have made it a popular remedy since early Roman times. It is known to strengthen the immune system and work wonders in relieving symptoms associated with respiratory tract infections.

Application

Can be used by either smelling them from the bottle or in the air (aroma diffuser), incorporating them into your yoga practice, applying them to the skin, for use in meditation or on your pillow at night. Scenting rooms, massaging (add 3–5 drops to a massage oil), suitable for the Vivasan car-diffuser, baths (add 8–10 drops to some milk and stir into water). Store at room temperature (15–25°C).

External use only. Do not take any essential oils internally. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply undiluted essential oils onto the skin. Use essential oils only under the proper guidance of a qualified aromatherapy practitioner if you are pregnant or have any other medical issues. Keep away from children.
